Live music changes the mood of a ride considerably, especially for anniversaries, engagements and evening celebrations timed around sunset or the Aarti. We work with local musicians covering the instruments most associated with Varanasi's classical tradition - sitar, tabla and bansuri (bamboo flute) - as well as vocalists who can perform classical or Bollywood sets, so you can choose an instrumental backdrop or a full vocal performance depending on what fits your occasion.

Musicians typically perform for a set duration matched to your ride and can either play continuously in the background or perform a couple of specific requested pieces timed to a particular moment - a cake cutting, a toast, or simply the stretch past Dashashwamedh Ghat during the Aarti. Let us know your preference, and any specific songs or ragas that matter to you, when you book.

Musician and singer availability is more limited than cruise availability itself, so we would recommend booking at least 2-3 days ahead if a specific artist, instrument or song request matters to you. This add-on works well paired with any of our celebration packages - birthday, anniversary, engagement or a wedding-related function - or simply on its own for a quieter, music-led ride.
